Who is starring in the Mexican drama?

We have a new comedy-drama series to put on your watch list for the weekend. It’s a Netflix show called Against the ropes, and it consists of 10 episodes that you will probably try to watch in one sitting. It was released on Netflix on January 25th and more and more people are tuning in to see it.

Against the ropesalso known as Against las Cuerdes, is a Mexican Netflix Original Series created by Carolina Rivera. She is best known for helping create Netflix comedy-drama daughter of another mother with Fernando Sarinana.

It follows a woman named Ángela who, after six years in prison for a crime she didn’t commit, is released into a world where she lost everything. She needs to get her life back on track and win back the love and trust of her daughter, Rocío. Realizing that Rocío is a fan of lucha libre wrestling, Ángela decides to step into the ring as her alter ego, Novia Negra, to win back her daughter’s respect.

Caraly Sánchez leads the cast as Ángela, an ex-convict trying to win back her daughter’s love. She is best known for previous roles in the Spanish TV shows La Bandida, somos, Como sobrevivir soltero and Un extraño enemigo. Alisson Santiago plays Rocío, Ángela’s little daughter. She’s a newcomer to the entertainment industry, so she hasn’t been in many projects. However, she had roles in the Spanish TV series Vecinos and the film drama attendances.
