It was founded on July 2, 1962 by Sam Walton in Rogers, Arkansas.

in 2020, forbes gave the Waltons the title of America’s richest family due to their stake in Walmart.

On December 16, 2020, the branch estimated its net worth at $247 billion.

Sam died in 1992 and his brother James “Bud” Walton – who had helped him build the retail giant – died in 1995.

Doug McMillon is President and CEO of Walmart Inc.

The 56-year-old has held this position since February 1, 2014.

Born in 1966 in Memphis, Tennessee, he was loud his Walmart pagegrew up in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

He is “a lifelong merchant who has dedicated his career to providing customers and members with products and services to help them save money and live better lives.”

McMillion earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Arkansas and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Tulsa.

John Furner serves as President and CEO of Walmart US, a position in which he “manages more than 1.5 million employees and is responsible for the strategic direction and performance of Walmart’s 4,700 stores, website, app and supply chain.” according to his Walmart page.

The 49-year-old was born in Jacksonville, Arkansas and received a bachelor’s degree in marketing management from the University of Arkansas.

While Walmart started in the US and is headquartered in Bentonville, Arkansas, the grocery giant has grown into an international company.
