It’s hard to believe that the 1996 film Matilda When it first came out it wasn’t a box office success. By today’s standards, it is a fan favorite film that evokes nostalgia for many and that families enjoy watching together. That’s why it’s great that the fantasy comedy is streaming on Netflix! So who stars in the production?

The focus of the film is the title character Matilda Wormwood, who, according to the synopsis, has “rude, distant” parents Harry and Zinnia. As if that wasn’t enough for the six-year-old girl, she also has the “terrifyingly strict” headmistress Agatha Truchbull at school. When she discovers that she has the power of telekinesis, Matilda is able to defend her friends at school and herself against her parents.
