Who stars in the dystopian science fiction film?

If you are a fan of it 2000 AD Then you were probably happy to learn that the comic was made into a movie. In 2012, this became true with the debut of the science fiction production Dredd. And thanks to Netflix adding the film to its catalog, it now reaches a wider audience! So who plays the lead role in the film?

The dystopian project didn’t do well at the box office, grossing just over $41 million against a budget of $30 million to $45 million. However, since being available as a home release, it has gained popularity and now has a cult following.

The film is set in Mega City One, “a vast, violent metropolis where criminals rule the streets,” the synopsis says. The only people who hold people accountable are police officers, called judges, and the titular character Dredd is one of them. When he teams up with newbie Cassandra, the two must take down Ma-Ma, a drug lord determined to keep her “empire” alive.

Karl Urban takes on the lead role of Judge Dredd. His character has the power to be a judge, jury and executioner in the dystopian world. The actor is best known as Éomer in the second and third parts Lord of the Rings Films, Leonard McCoy in the Star Trek Reboot films, Skurge in Thor: Ragnarokand Billy Butcher in The young on Prime Video.
