Whoopi Goldberg debunks rumors as she addresses COVID

Whoopi Goldberg can’t miss The View to be on Burning Man.
“Despite what you’ve heard, and let me just make sure you all know it’s actually me,” she said, pulling down her face mask Video played on Wednesday’s episode of The View, I’m not in Burning Man.
“I’m still not in Italy. I don’t do anything, you know? I’m not trying to change the outcome of the election. I just have COVID,” she continued, addressing online speculation about her absence from the show’s season 27 premiere.
“Apparently I’m still testing positive. I need to do a definitive test before I can come back. So it might take a few days.”
Tonight’s episode began with The View co-host Joy Behar explaining why Goldberg was missing. “Whoopi is still under the COVID weather. I think this is her third fight.”
Confirming that Goldberg had been vaccinated, Behar addressed the people who poked fun at the host getting sick despite receiving the COVID vaccine. “But you know the people – right, she got the vaccination. Because she’s not dead! She’s just a little under the weather.
“If you don’t get it [the vaccine] And if you get the disease, you could die,” she continued.
“And before we had the vaccines, millions and millions died,” added co-host Ana Navarro.
“This kind of irrational talk is driving me insane!” Behar replied.
In her video message, Goldberg said she was “really excited to see the beautiful new desk” unveiled as part of the set’s redesign at Tuesday’s season premiere. “I’m really excited to see all the beautiful women. You girls look great. I can’t wait to get back and hang out, but until then it’s up to me and my mask.”
Goldberg continued, joking, “At that age, I’ve never been sent to my room like that, but I was locked in my room.”
Navarro seemed to put an end to any speculation, saying: “Whoopi Goldberg, as we know, likes electric heated toilets. The chance of her being in Burning Man is zero!”
Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Sunny Hostin are the other daytime talk show hosts.
