Shahmaran is Netflix’s latest dark fantasy series and one of several Turkish programs on the platform. In the new series, Serenay plays Sarikaya Sahsu, a graduate student from Istanbul who has booked a guest lecture at a university in the city of Adana. There, she becomes entangled with a mysterious group who believe that Sahsu may be linked to a mythical prophecy.

Premiering on January 20th Shahmaran has already become a hit with the public thanks to its romantic and mystical elements. It will likely take Netflix some time to determine whether or not they will renew the show, but many viewers are hoping so shamaran Season 2.

Those who have already watched all available episodes will surely be wondering where the show might go if it continues for another season. But that’s the good news Shahmaran has performed well in the streaming service’s first week, quickly climbing into Netflix’s top 10 in several countries. It’s always a good sign when a Netflix Original manages to claim a spot in the top 10 charts in multiple places around the world.

Traditionally, Netflix takes a few weeks or even months to make cancellation and renewal decisions. Even with big hits like Wednesday, it was still more than a month before Netflix officially announced its return. We probably won’t know ShahmaranDestiny by March or April.
