Wisconsin lands transfer QB Nick Evers from Oklahoma

New Wisconsin coach Luke Fickell worked quickly to improve quarterback space when he added Oklahoma transfer Nick Evers to the roster on Saturday.
Evers was an ESPN 300 recruit in the 2022 class and was ranked #166 overall. He was a 6-foot-3, 190-pound recruit at Flower Mound High School in Flower Mound, Texas.
Evers originally signed for Florida after high school, but then flipped his commitment to Oklahoma and signed with the Sooners. He sat behind Dillon Gabriel that season, who transferred from UCF to Oklahoma and threw for 2,920 yards, 24 touchdowns and 6 interceptions while rushing for 298 yards and five touchdowns.
Gabriel will be back for the Sooners next season and Evers wanted another chance. Wisconsin starting quarterback Graham Mertz joined the transfer portal this offseason, and after Fickell was hired by Wisconsin, the coach began looking for a new quarterback option.
He gets Evers, who has four years left of the season and can play for the Badgers next season. Also on the staff are three-star quarterback Cole LaCrue of Broomfield, Colorado, who was signed in the 2023 class, and freshman Myles Burkett.
