Woman piles trolley high with cut price 20p toiletry gift sets from Asda – but people all have the same two comments

A WOMAN has divided opinion online after sharing a snap of her cart stacked to the brim with bargain-priced products in Asda’s January sales.

Taking to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group, Maria Wilson posted the photo along with a caption that read: “Not very often I get a bargain but £12 for all of that (towels aside).

“That’s something of Christmas assortment!! Gift sets 20p and 38p. Asda Rochdale.”

The post quickly garnered over 2,400 likes and was inundated with comments — and it turns out people had the same two concerns.

While some questioned whether Maria had left discounted items for other shoppers, others felt the gifts weren’t exactly thought out.

“Were there any left?!” asked one.

A second commented: “Isn’t Christmas about giving a gift? Something you think this person will love? Not just bombarding everyone with body wash gift sets?

“In my opinion it’s just a real cop. But to each other!”

A third quipped: “I’m glad I’m not on your Christmas list.”

Meanwhile, a fourth added: “I’m surprised gift sets are still popular.

“Are people really using them? Or just give them away as gifts or donate to charity shops.”

However, others were quick to defend Maria and congratulate her on the discounted gift sets.

“Laughingly no one wanted them… that’s why they went down so cheap!! Because nobody wanted them!! And now she wanted someone, it’s wrong!!!” one wrote.
