Woman slams friend for refusing to pay for spare plane ticket after ditching trip – but everyone is on his side

A MAN refused to pay for an extra plane ticket for his friend after he cut short his vacation at the last minute.

He explained on Reddit that he and a friend had planned a trip together and booked plane tickets.

However, he asked her out on a date before the trip, only for her to turn him down – leading to him calling off the trip because he was uncomfortable.

He wrote on Reddit: “In November, me and a longtime friend bought flights to Miami for March 2023.

“The plan was to hang out, shop, and probably go to an amusement park.

“Last week I realized I was igniting feelings for this friend, so I decided to ask her out.

“She said no and was very gentle with it, rejection obviously hurts and I’ll get over it.”

The man explained that the problem started when he cut short the planned trip to Miami.

He explained: “The problem started when I said I wouldn’t go to Miami with her anymore because it would be awkward for me to spend so much time together after being rejected.

“I know I flake on the trip so I told her I would pay for her non-refundable flight if she ended up not going after all.

“She said it wasn’t enough and I had to pay for her friend’s flight (which is double the price and too expensive) so that she could still make the trip.”

In his post on Reddit, the man wanted to know if he was being unreasonable after refusing to pay for the extra ticket.

Despite his concerns, users on Reddit sided with him, thinking it was more than enough that he offered to pay for her plane ticket and that he “dodged a bullet.”

One person wrote: “She’s unreasonable when she’s trying to force you to pay for someone else.”

Another added: “You are in no way expected to pay for someone else’s ticket so that they can still travel.”

Other users thought his friend was wrong for asking for an extra plane ticket.

One user added, “She doesn’t think much of you when she tries to get you to pay for someone else’s ticket to go with her.”

Many people also took in the comments, telling him to go on the trip alone.

This isn’t the first time friends and families have had a fight over a plane ticket for an upcoming trip.
