Women’s T20 Challenge 2022: “My back hurts watching that action”

Maya Sonawane captured everyone’s attention with her unique bowling act while playing for Velocity in the second match of the 2022 Women’s T20 Challenge on Tuesday, May 24. along with the likes of Shivil Kaushik and Paul Adams in a group of bowlers spinning with an active singularity.

The 2022 Women’s T20 Challenge took place on Monday night in Pune with a Supernova vs Forerunner match. The supernovas won that game in 49 runs. Harmanpreet Kaur-led outfit have a chance to reach the final by beating Velocity on Tuesday.

Velocity won and picked the first field of the match of the day. Conditions look good for batting as captain Kaur has scored for half a century for the Supernovas and led the team to 150/5 in their 20 passes.

Speaking to the host broadcasters after the first inning, Kaur said:

“In the day game, it’s always a little bit difficult. At first, we threw away some tough points, so Taniya and I decided that we needed to build a partnership. We were. always looking at the areas where we want to improve but that doesn’t happen always in the game. I’m happy with the score we came up with.”

While Harmanpreet Kaur’s solid batting was one of the highlights from the first innings, another thing that caught the attention of fans was Maya Sonawane’s bowling action.

The one who spins the right arm with the right foot defeats the 10th of the Supernova rounds. Although her bowling act seemed unlikely, Supernova scored 19 points from her two passes, with Harmanpreet Kaur beating a point four and six in her second.
