World Athletics Championships 2023 medal table

The 2023 World Athletics Championships are underway in Budapest and the United States are once again at the top of the medals table.

The USA topped the table with 13 gold medals at their home championships in Oregon last year, ahead of Ethiopia with four gold medals. Jamaica, China, Kenya, Australia and Peru each took two gold medals.

Great Britain and Northern Ireland won just one gold last year – Jake Wightman’s 1500m triumph – but have already surpassed that tally this time in Hungary.
