World Series 2022: Phillies fans break 24-hour merchandise record after NLCS win

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Philadelphia Phillies broke a merchandise sales record after securing a spot in the World Series on Sunday.
The Phillies set a 24-hour record for merchandise sales by League Championship Series (ALCS or NLCS) winners following Sunday’s win, according to MLB and Fanatics.
The previous 24-hour record was set by the Cubs in 2016 after defeating the Dodgers in the NLCS.

Fans flock to the New Era Phillies Team Store to get their hands on new gear.
“I was just walking around looking for the Phillies hat, the black locker hats,” said Tom Leonard, who drove to several stores looking for the gear.
Store officials said they expect to receive new shipments later in the week to keep up with the huge demand.
Phillies fans will have to wait until Halloween night to wear their new gear at Citizens Bank Park. Because then the World Series comes to Philadelphia for Games 3, 4 and 5.
