Yahoo Mail app update makes it easier to manage receipts and track deliveries

Yahoo has rolled out its latest Mail app with a slew of updates designed to help users track receipts, shipments, gift cards, and “free trial” subscriptions that must be canceled by a specific date. A new design also aims to simplify navigation, with contextual “top of inbox” filters, one-tap unsubscribe, attachment organization, and more.

If you sign up for free trials, the free trial tracker might come in handy. It displays reminders at the top of your inbox letting you know when a free trial ends, so you can decide whether to keep it or cancel without panicking about the date. It also offers updated package tracking alerts to let you know where your package is or if it’s ready for pickup.

Another new view lets you see receipts for all your orders in one place, helping you track expenses or make returns easily. And finally, the gift card view shows all your unused gift cards in one place so you can use them before they expire.

Mail also gets some new design features, most notably the updated navigation at the top of the inbox that lets you switch between inbox, attachments, starred, and productivity reminders. It also now includes one-tap unsubscribe, grouping by sender, and an “email myself” message you sent as reminders. Finally, there’s a new “Attachments” filter that allows you to view and filter all your attachments by type (PDFs, documents, photos) so you don’t have to search through every email.

While it doesn’t draw the attention of Gmail or Outlook, Yahoo Mail lags just behind those two services with around 225 million users in 2020. The update rolls out today for iOS and Android, although it may take a while to reach you
