YNW Melly reportedly told rapper ‘I did that’ to Peezy Gambino after double homicide.
During his trial, text messages from rapper YNW Melly were read in court… and in one text he appears to have claimed responsibility for the double murders.
In court, Detective Mark Moretti revealed private text messages and social media correspondence between Melly and others. When asked in one of those messages how he was feeling after the shooting, he reportedly told Peezy Gambino, “Shhh. I did that.”
Melly’s defense attorneys pleaded a mistrial, arguing that Moretti’s testimony was inconclusive, forcing the jury to speculate.
YNW Melly and his childhood friend, YNW Bortlen, are each charged with double first-degree murder with a firearm in the 2018 shooting of friends YNW Sakchaser and YNW Juvy.
Melly and Bortlen were driving in a Jeep after a recording session in Fort Lauderdale when Melly allegedly fatally shot Sakchaser and Juvy. Henry is charged as an accomplice in the case but will be tried separately.
Melly denied the allegations against him. Bortlen testifies against him in court.
