YNW Melly’s lawyers are requesting that the case be dismissed!!
Lawyers defending YNW Melly have asked that the double murder case against him be dismissed.
Melly’s lawyers say prosecutors withheld incriminating information about their lead investigator.
Miramar police Detective Mark Moretti allegedly forcibly stole a cellphone from his mother, Jamie King, last year while questioning her in connection with the case. Melly’s lawyers say Moretti was outside his jurisdiction when he issued a search warrant for the phone. They added that the detective was “willing to lie about who issued the search warrant” to cover his tracks and was “willing to collude with a Broward sheriff’s deputy” who wasn’t even present, when the phone was confiscated.
YNW Melly is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the 2018 slayings of Christopher “YNW Juvy” Thomas and Anthony “YNW Sakchaser” Williams in Miramar. YNW Bortlen is also on trial.
