“Here’s a life hack I learned from my mom,” the woman said at the beginning of her video.
“When you’re done browning your beef, you just take a paper towel, dip it in the fat and it soaks it up, so you don’t have to use a strainer.
“Make sure it’s a clean paper towel and just throw it away when you’re done.”
The video showed the TikToker using a spatula to move the towel around the pan of ground beef to soak up all the fat.
Her followers were happy about the tip and gave her satisfied ratings.
“Clever!” wrote one user.
“I always pour it into a cup and wait for the fat to set so it doesn’t clog our pipes…it’s easier!”
“Your mom taught you well!” shouted a second person.
Despite the positive reviews, some TikTokers couldn’t help but notice that their meat looked undercooked and unseasoned.
However, the poster clarified that she had finished cooking and seasoning the beef after the video was shot.
Others claimed it looked like she was burning her meat and pan because the fat appeared to be cooking.
Should that happen, TikTok has already provided a way to save burnt pans.
All you have to do is cover the pan with salt, baking soda and dish soap.
Next, cover the mixture with a paper towel and pour vinegar over it.
After five minutes, the brown spots on the pan should have practically melted away.
