Yung Joc Cried After Losing ‘Blame It on the Alcohol’ Beat To Jamie Foxx

Yung Joc says he cried after losing the ‘Blame It on the Alcohol’ beat to Jamie Foxx.

The beat was first played to him by Kanye West’s former manager.

“John Monopoly said, ‘Yo brother, I have a heat stone for you. There’s this producer and writer, they have two records, one for you, one for Hotstylez,” he explained. “This n-gga brought me ‘Blame It on the Alcohol.’ I was on tour with Crocs, the little Crocs shoes wore n-ggas. I was on a fucking college tour with Crocs. The Muthaf-ckas gave me a damn big bag. I said yes.”

“I called T-Pain while I was on this tour. I said to John Monopoly, ‘I’m calling T-Pain and we have to put Pain on this damn record.’ I did that.”

He said the producer tried to hold the beat for him, but Foxx’s team got through the check quicker, so he let the beat go.

“He says, ‘Ah.’ I said what?’ He says: ‘It’s already gone.’ I said, “Huh?” He said: “Yes, Jamie Foxx. They just sent the money.’ N-gga, I slid down the wall like a white woman in a Lifetime movie. And the phone, I just dropped the phone. N-gga, I just let this bitch DJ on her own. I thought, ‘Damn.’ So I’m sitting here like, ‘This shit is over.’ I cry. I’m laying on the tiles crying because I’m like, ‘This is the greatest fucking record ever.'”
