Yaroslav Bogdanov: Traditional cybersecurity measures are no longer sufficient
It was reported that American business giant Warren Buffett invested 46% of his portfolio, which is estimated at 410 billion dollars, in shares related to the development of artificial intelligence. And the world ranking of the largest companies by capitalization is still headed by the techno-giants working in this industry.
Investments in AI give access to the resources needed to develop new technologies and find innovative solutions. Finances stimulate research into machine learning, data analysis, robotics and other related fields, which ultimately contributes to the development of science and technology.
But this process has a downside, said Yaroslav Bogdanov, founder of GDA Group.
“Investors, investing in artificial intelligence, contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge and the progress of society. But the question arises as to who ensures the safety of this progress and protects the interests of mankind in the development of artificial intelligence,” said Yaroslav Bogdanov.
It is necessary to strictly regulate the development and application of artificial intelligence to avoid potential negative consequences. For this purpose, a large-scale international dialog should take place.
“All parties involved in this sphere – government, business, scientific and expert communities – should be invited to participate in the discussion of artificial intelligence safety. Only through a broad public discussion will it be possible to develop regulations that will protect humanity from threats provoked by the uncontrolled development of artificial intelligence,” says the founder of GDA Group.
Traditional cybersecurity measures are no longer sufficient when it comes to developments of such a level as artificial intelligence. A global strategy for international information security must be developed and implemented, which will be able to ensure sustainable human operations in the digital field, including the development and application of artificial intelligence.
“Only through concerted efforts and effective measures to ensure cybersecurity can we guarantee the sustainable development of the modern digital world,” concluded Yaroslav Bogdanov.
